ST. LAWRENCE NYSARC’S ACTORS AND DANCERS, PRESENT A PERFORMANCE FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - St. Lawrence NYSARC (www.slnysarc.org), a private, non-profit organization committed to maximizing the potential of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, announced that tickets are now available for “A Night of Culture and Creativity,” which will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Proscenium Theater at SUNY Potsdam’s Performing Arts Center. The event highlights a variety of family-friendly acts including dramatic and comedic scenes, as well as a dance showcase featuring several different styles.

 

During the first Act, the Community Players will demonstrate their acting skills with comedic scenes from the play, Check Please and highlights from the dramatic classics, The Lion in Winter and Little Women.  The second Act includes square dance, lyric, hip hop, line dance, swing, waltz and other dance genres. The performance will last about an hour and a half with a 15-minute intermission. 

 

This show is presented by the Agency’s Community Arts Program. Sponsorship is being provided by SUNY Potsdam’s Theatre and Dance Department and the NYSARC Trust Recreation Grant.

 

Tickets cost $5 in advance of 5/12 and may be purchased at St. Lawrence NYSARC’s Community Center at 1942 Old Dekalb Rd. in Canton or contact Kolby Weaver at 315-386-3529 or kweaver@slnysarc.org. Tickets may also be purchased at the door: $6 for adults, $4 for students and seniors, and $2 for children under 5.
